What Is The Story Behind Your Company Brand Name?

Just as Coco Chanel and Marilyn Monroe refused to accept second best. I believe that every woman around the world should strive to achieve her own personal greatness through embracing her unique-self.

Just as Coco Chanel said “In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” I believe that every woman has a unique “story” and that unique story deserves to be shared and by sharing our story it allows our light to shine bright.  I celebrate and honor Coco Chanel daily. I named my company No.113 Branding after the perfume Chanel No. 5 (1+1+3=5) in honor of her courage and determination to share her unique point of view with the world.

I also wanted to incorporate the perfume into my brand in honor of Marilyn Monroe who spotlighted the perfume in an unsolicited endorsement of the fragrance provided invaluable publicity in the 1950’s. When she was asked by a reporter what did she wear to bed and she answered “Why, Chanel No.5 of course” which put a large spotlight on the Chanel brand in the United States.

I consider Coco and Marilyn to be two of the many inspirational woman of the world, and that this distinctive title honors women from all walks of life who can serve as an inspiration for all of us.

Love Thyself

One day during a blistering hot summer in Hollywood, I escaped the heat by going to the movies. I saw Moulin Rouge and I was instantly swept up in the romantic musical about a poor writer that falls in love with a courtesan in Paris France.

A recurring line from the movie, The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return,” continues to resonate with me today.  I have found it easy breezy over the years to love others but allowing myself to be loved in return doesn’t come quite as easily.

I went through a tough break-up this year and I honestly have not been in a hurry to get back into a serious relationship, which for me is definitely out of character.

Instead, I have made a conscious decision to thrive in other parts of my life. Honestly, I hope and believe that I will be in LOVE again but this past breakup taught me that I have to love myself first, continue on the road of self-discovery and allow myself to be loved in return.
